History of straightupbeautiful

Every story has a beginning. Our story found its beginnings in a unique place…on a bed found in a tiny dorm room located on the Fifth floor of an Off-Broadway Theatre in the heart of New York City. Three nights I was awakened in the middle of the night by God to understand His special love for women- His daughters. During the third night, the vision of a unique ministry to women of all ages was conceived. Following these middle of the night experiences came a practical meeting set up with my local church pastors to share with them the vision plainly written out of starting a women’s conference. And it was not soon after, that Purelifenyc was birthed (www.purelifenyc.org).

I invited my dear friend, Pam McDermott (Co-founder of straightupbeautiful) to attend our first conference in New York City. And while we were enjoying the conference, she turned to me and said, “We need to do something like this in Lawrence, Kansas…but for teenage girls”. And, thus-the journey of straightupbeautiful began!

We joined our hearts together in our desire to see transformation and healing in the lives of women of all ages and have since been developing the expanding vision of straightupbeautiful to serve as a ministry impacting beyond a conference experience.
