greeting

“Every woman was once a little girl. And every little girl holds in her heart her most
precious dreams.
She longs to be swept up into a romance, to play an irreplaceable
role in a great adventure, to be the Beauty of the story”.
(Quote taken from “Captivating-Unveiling The Mystery of a Woman’s Soul” written
by John & Stasi Eldredge).

Isn’t that so true?!... Don’t we, as women want to be swept up into romance, to play
an irreplaceable role in a great adventure and to BE the beauty. There is something
about how God made us that desires to be captivating, beautiful, wanted, unique, &
loved. And that’s ok, but ...the secret to gaining those things is in where we go to
find them.

Growing up without knowing Jesus personally I knew no better than to turn to the
world (society) to look to define who I was. I tried to find my worth and identity in
titles that should have brought me fulfillment. Throughout my high school years I
attained titles like popular, star-athlete dating star-athlete, model, full volleyball
scholarship to KU, etc and sadly found out that there was nothing behind those titles
but emptiness.

It wasn’t until my freshman year at the University of Kansas all of that changed when
I met the Love of my life, the Lover of my soul, the One who is now my best friend,
the One who is always faithful to me & loves me unconditionally, the One who died
for me, the One who completes me and that One is Jesus Christ.

Now where do I look to define me? I no longer look to the world, to my peers
(or others), to magazines, MTV, guys or titles; instead, I look to God and His Word
(the Bible) to tell me who I am. He tells me that I am captivating, beautiful, wanted,
unique, and loved and I have found true fulfillment in knowing Him and in knowing
who I am in Him.

Let me encourage you that you too can find personal fulfillment and acceptance in
knowing the One who made you and knows you better than you know yourself and
that One is Jesus Christ- the Lover of your soul.

You Are Beautiful!
